The 52 Lists Project

Over the past few weeks I've been seeing post after post about the book The 52 Lists Project. This book is basically a journal, compiled of a variety of prompts. Each week there is a prompt for the list that should be written. These prompts are separated into seasons. I'm excited to have started this project this week. I'm not worrying about which weeks line up with which list, I'm just trying to stick within my current season. I will however make sure that I don't try to complete multiple lists a week. I want to practice some self control haha. I'm definitely one to jump ahead, and I LOVE lists.

LIST 1

LIST YOUR GOALS AND DREAMS FOR THIS YEAR

• To marry the love of my life
• Launch my own business
• Make our apartment a home
• I dream of many new adventures with Stephen
• I pray the high school group grows
• Finding our new normal as husband and wife
• To read more (maybe a book a month)
• To live with less - cleaning out my closet and boxes
• That I nourish the spiritual and creative parts of my soul
• I dream that I am able to pursue and pour into fruitful relationships
• I also dream of going somewhere I have never been before
• To learn how to do calligraphy and practice hand lettering
• To live a life that emanates gratitude and generosity
• It is a goal of mine to learn and continue pursuing being the wife God wants me to be
• Play at an open mic night with Stephen
• To be completely debt free
• To get my health in check
• Once again climb a 5.9 with ease and climb outside

It seems that my theme for this week has been goals and goal setting. I'm excited to continue sharing my lists with you!

Making February Happen

January has come and gone. It seemed to have flown by! I can't believe that I'm 2 months away from marrying the love of my life. With wedding planning and everything starting to wrap up, it's crazy to think it's gonna be so soon. This is a month full of bridal showers and last minute detail prep, but it'll be one to remember as well. I'm excited to be traveling to Chicago to visit with my family for a weekend, and preparing to move in March. So much is happening and I'm both nervous and excited about it all.

January was a rough month for goals. I didn't seem to complete nearly as many as I had hoped. There were a couple weeks where I dropped the ball all together. I had gotten sick halfway through the month and it threw me off balance. But here I am, attempting to be as transparent as possible and sharing my goals from last month:

JANUARY GOALS

• Get a full time job I'm so bummed this didn't happen, but also a bit thankful. God has perfect timing and right now I'm so busy with so many other things that I'm thankful for the time I have. I look forward to being apart of the work world, but that wasn't in the cards for me last month. I'm going to continue pursuing a career in UX/UI but I might wait until after the wedding to really get into it.
Meet with marriage counselor Our appointment went well! Though, there were a lot of things that she brought up that Stephen and I felt like we already knew about our relationship. I'm so thankful to be marrying him. We've been able to have those hard conversations, or just conversations in general about things that sometimes people miss or don't think about.
Meet with marriage mentors The Wigley's are great! We are blessed to have them pouring into our lives and our relationship. Some tears were shed, but we had conversations that we needed to have and it went really well. Stephen and I ended up talking in the car outside there house afterwards for about a half hour.
Update resume/portfolio/website I'm still in the process of updating my resume, but for the most part the content is complete. I'm excited to send it out after I finish with the rest of my revisions.
• Organize photos on hard drive This was one of those things that kept on being pushed to the back burner. There isn't any urgency in organizing my hard drive, therefore it wasn't a priority. Hopefully I'll be able to clean it up sometime soon.
• Create (and stick to) a budget I'm proud of myself for creating a budget, but I definitely need to work on sticking to it. Progress not perfection, I need to give myself a little grace but remind myself that it's worth it.
• Tithe Because I didn't get a job, it has been difficult to complete this goal.

Like I said, January was tough, but looking at the list it seems that I've completed a bit more than I thought. Anyways, here are my goals for February:

FEBRUARY GOALS

Monthly Goals
Apply to my dream job
• Read 3 books
• Organize bridal party plans
• Start blogging Look! I've already completed one goal, now to stick to it.
• Start hand lettering and selling work
• Begin project life I love scrapbooking and I haven't been able to scrapbook in quite a while, partly because of the fact that it takes a lot of time. Project life seems to be something that won't be as time consuming but I'd be able to nourish my creativity.
• Finalize last bit of wedding details We only have a few more things left, and I'm sure I'll blog about them as I complete them.
• Begin writing wedding shower thank you notes We've already started receiving gifts and I figure, I should start sooner rather than later!
• Prepare for March 5th move in

Weekly Goals
Read a couple chapters
• Connect with far away friends
• Complete at least one wedding task
• Make 2 meals at home
• Write a blog post
• Hand letter 5 projects

Daily Goals
Read bible
• Pray with Stephen
• Pray through Journal
• Smoothie
• Climb 3x a week

I'm already off to a great start. There are several goals that I'm already in the process of completing. I really think that February is going to be my month :]

Lets try this again

Hi, my name is Kadie. Months ago, I attempted to start this blog. But because of various reasons, I didn't actually get the ball rolling until now. Part of it was because of my innate desire to have a beautiful page all set up and ready to go. I'm usually hyper organized and if I don't have a plan, I don't get things done.

Well, here I am. Still without a plan. Still yearning to start this journey, but having no idea where to go or how to begin. So I just decided to start. To start typing and letting my fingers carry my story through the keys, in hopes that something good will be written on this screen. I may no proofread this, just because I'd most likely over-edit it. So here it is, here I am, starting a blog. I can't promise it'll be grammatically correct, or dotted with the correct punctuation. Commas kind of get me all mixed up, but again, here I am. I have so many goals and stories to share. From triumphs and failures to the exciting and mundane.

This blog is going to be where I share my current journey through life. Right now, I'm planning a wedding and preparing to move into a new apartment that will become the home to my soon-to-be-husband and I. I'm in transition (still), and that's ok. God's been continuously providing and taking care of me, of us, and I know that in the end everything is going to work out for His good.

So welcome to my little corner of the internet, and come along as I share my adventure through life.
